Baby Day!!

So, as many of you have probably heard by now...baby boy didn't flip. So, baby day is Wed Feb 11th. We have to be there at 7 and then baby should be out around 9 am. Certainly not the way I wanted to go, but I am excited that I don't have to sit around and wait... Plus, as the doula said...we will have a perfectly shaped head and I am having surgery so everyone has to wait on me! So...guess there will pictures to be seen soon!

Flipped or not flipped...that is the question!!!

So, last Wed at the chiro I had a ton of movement. They didn't check at the doctor on Thursday...probably because they hate me and I hate them and they just wanted me to schedule my c-section. Anyway, when I went to the chiro on Friday she was pretty convinced that baby boy had flipped. She didn't want to get my hopes up, so she just said that she thought and to watch all weekend. So, I watched all weekend by end of weekend I had myself convinced that not flipped. The chiro works out of a midwife place on Monday, so she asked the midwife to take a look on Monday. Well, the midwife had a hard time herself...she said one of reasons is because I have strong abs...guess maybe have a 6 pack in there some where!! Anyway, after a lot of poking, prodding, and listening, the midwife said she would go with 98% positive that he has flipped! Still trying to not get too hyped, but I think that I am feeling some kicks to the ribs. I have a doc appt on Friday. Hopefully they will do ultrasound because I would think pretty stupid to go next Wed if he has flipped. Anyway...I will keep you posted.

Yikes...guess I haven't posted in long time!

So...where to start. It has been a while. Have had a couple ultrasounds since posting and I think most everyone knows that the baby is breech. We decided to try anything and everything to flip him. So, I have put my hips in the air, played music down under, talked to him and then even sought out help. I started going to a chiropractor who specializes in the Webster Technique. This is doing adjustments to the hips, pelvis and lower back to help give more room to baby. It also involves loosening the ligaments that hold the baby up and then inversion. Inversion just means pretty much that I put my knees on something and bend over onto my elbows so my butt is in the air. It pretty much sucks to be in the position...I have gotten better at it, but it still sucks. And to top it off I broke the little table I have been using last night, which when broke pushed back and put a hole in the wall! Nice...real nice :) Anyway, I have been been to the chiropractor now 5 times. Last night was the best night, we had some good movement...so keep your fingers crossed.
I also tried this last Saturday to do what is called External Cephalic Version. This is a more invasive technique. I had to go to the hospital and be hooked to an IV, just in case something went wrong and we needed a c-section. Have to admit that is what scared me most...having a kid that day. So, anyway you go to hospital, get an IV and a shot so you don't have any contractions. Then, the doctor comes in lubes you up and pushes with all his might. They first push him to do a forward roll. We do that twice. Then, we try backwards. When they went backwards, we had most success (maybe some gymnastics in his future), but when the doctor let go, he went right back with head up. Then, they tried one more time forwards. No success! So, no flipping that way.
I am still hoping for flipping. I will keep seeing the chiropractor. But at the doctor today they made me schedule for a c-section. So...guess we have a date...February 11th. We don't have a time yet, but I am sure they will call me tomorrow to tell me when. Some days I have come to terms with a c-section which isn't at all what planned for and other days I get mad. However, ultimate desire...healthy baby, so in the end I guess it doesn't matter.
Everyone think of baby flipping!!!! I will keep you all posted.

Hawkeyes!!!!

And of course for the Hawkeyes too...

Go Vikings!!!

We know he will be cheering for the right team!!!!

8 months! Not much to report. Had some more high blood pressure stuff, but once again all tests came back normal. I bought myself a blood pressure thing so I can prove to them that they are crazy...I think it worked.
Other than that...I have a more advanced ultrasound on Wed. The reason was originally because they diagnosed me as hypertensive, until all tests were normal. But, I guess his belly also measured slightly bigger than head and thigh bone. Who knows, but I think it is better pictures, so won't be worst thing in world. Will probably have some pictures to post after that.

Actually seeing the doctor!

So, I actually saw a doctor today and not the nurse practioner. Yea!! Of course she said that there was a lot of overreacting and she was shocked to hear that they had wanted to send me to the hospital. She agreed that the tests needed to be run, but she agreed that they should have explained things better and done a much better job at keeping me calm! My blood pressure was just slightly raised today, but she said it was probably because of going in there...hmm...seems like exactly what I kept trying to tell the nurse practioner. Anyway, she also said I am fine to fly, so no concerns for my upcoming MN trip. Overall, I feel a hundred times better and will obviously not be visiting anyone but the doctor from here on out.
Oh...and she also mentioned how proud she was of me for getting a doula. This is a good thing because my doula said that there are still quite a few doctors/hospitals out there that don't like doulas being present. So, I was happy to hear that they support doulas as a practice. (for anyone who doesn't know, a doula is a trained professional that is there as part of the birth to help protect the mother from unnecessary procedures and what, also there to help with the coaching part)
7 months pictures will be posted soon...
