Hawkeyes!!!!

And of course for the Hawkeyes too...

Go Vikings!!!

We know he will be cheering for the right team!!!!

8 months! Not much to report. Had some more high blood pressure stuff, but once again all tests came back normal. I bought myself a blood pressure thing so I can prove to them that they are crazy...I think it worked.
Other than that...I have a more advanced ultrasound on Wed. The reason was originally because they diagnosed me as hypertensive, until all tests were normal. But, I guess his belly also measured slightly bigger than head and thigh bone. Who knows, but I think it is better pictures, so won't be worst thing in world. Will probably have some pictures to post after that.

Actually seeing the doctor!

So, I actually saw a doctor today and not the nurse practioner. Yea!! Of course she said that there was a lot of overreacting and she was shocked to hear that they had wanted to send me to the hospital. She agreed that the tests needed to be run, but she agreed that they should have explained things better and done a much better job at keeping me calm! My blood pressure was just slightly raised today, but she said it was probably because of going in there...hmm...seems like exactly what I kept trying to tell the nurse practioner. Anyway, she also said I am fine to fly, so no concerns for my upcoming MN trip. Overall, I feel a hundred times better and will obviously not be visiting anyone but the doctor from here on out.
Oh...and she also mentioned how proud she was of me for getting a doula. This is a good thing because my doula said that there are still quite a few doctors/hospitals out there that don't like doulas being present. So, I was happy to hear that they support doulas as a practice. (for anyone who doesn't know, a doula is a trained professional that is there as part of the birth to help protect the mother from unnecessary procedures and what, also there to help with the coaching part)
7 months pictures will be posted soon...

Updates...updates...

So, guess a lot has been happening. I took the first glucose test a week or so ago and failed it. Which the doctors office made a big deal out of, but soon realized upon talking to friends that tons of people fail. Well, when you fail you have to do a three hour test. It includes fasting, drinking a gross sweet drink, getting your blood drawn four times and sitting around for 3 hours. Fortunately, I passed the test, so no gestational diabetes!
I had a doctors appointment on Thursday. At this appt, my blood pressure was very high I guess...I don't know how accurate it was because they did it twice on one arm and once on other arm and got something different each time...however, it was always above normal. So, once again I was with the nurse practioner, who I didn't like and she freaked out. So, back to the blood takers I went for more tests (the same tests I had passed two weeks prior) and I was given a bucket that I had to fill with urine for 24 hours. Well, I went for the tests Friday morning and went back to doctor on Friday afternoon. I passed all the tests (except urine had not done that one yet), but my blood pressure was still high. Of course...nurse practioner freaked out, which I am sure was helping my blood pressure, and decided that I needed to go to the hospital for monitoring. Well, the on-call doctor from hospital decided that it was ridiculous for me to go to the hospital because she didn't consider my pressure to be that high. However, they did demand that I start the urine test upon leaving (which originally wasn't doing until Sunday), oh and mild bed rest.
So, I started the urine test Friday afternoon. Then, just to add to my blood pressure skyrocketing when I went to give it to the hospital there was some confusion on if I needed labs or not. So, Matt and I sat in emergency room for 35 minutes (missing our movie with friends) just to find out that all I needed to do was drop off my sample. They then called me about 10 minutes later because they didn't have all the information necessary...then for the icing on the cake....they called 30 minutes later to tell me that they were unable to use my sample!!!!! So, I peed in a bucket for 24 hours straight for no reason!!! I have now decided that the only reason my blood pressure is high is because I am dealing with a bunch of idiots!! Fortunately, tomorrow morning I am seeing the actual doctor, who I am going to share my displeasure with and will hopefully be able to give me some straight answers! My only concern right now is that they will tell me not to fly...I have talked to some people and they say the only reason that they would recommend not flying is if I was a super nervous flier, which I am not. So, keep fingers crossed for me because I am flying on Wednesday and will be so upset if can't fly!!!
Until tomorrow after my doctors appointment...

Gaining Weight :(

Had a doctors appointment today. Not much new. Babies heart rate is good and he appears to be measuring right. The lady did mention that I may need to watch my weight some. Guess I put on 7 pounds in the last 4 weeks! Yuck...not really liking that! I can't decide how worried she was...she isn't my normal doctor, so I don't really know her. Guess we will see next time I go. My next appointment is on the 20th. It is another ultrasound, plus have to get all my blood work. Until then...

6 months.
Nothing much to report. I am having some syatic nerve trouble, but I am dealing with it. We have a doctors appointment next Thursday, but it is just a general appointment.

We had another ultrasound Thur the 9th. When they did the one last week there was a shot of the heart that they were unable to get. They got it this time and the best part was we got some more shots. Oh...and they confirmed again, that yes...it is definitely a boy! Also, got to see him moving his mouth and a picture of the bottom of his feet. All very cool! He is just over one pound now. Still a little bigger than the norm for 22 weeks, but they still predict Feb 13th.
Not much else to report, except that he is moving all around in there. It is not just flutters anymore, feels a little more like karate! We don't have another doctor's appointment for a month. I plan to post pictures in a couple of weeks because we will be at 6 months. Oh and on a sad note...my fingers have already swollen out of my wedding ring! That's not supposed to happen so soon is it??!!

Not the most beautiful shots, but my friend is here and I have been meaning to take pictures for the last two weeks! Anyway, guess we are starting to expand. I will have Matt scan in the ultrasound pictures and get those on here too.

Long time no post...

We had a doctor appointment today. Not a whole lot to report except that we now have a count down to finding out the sex. September 30th is the big day. I really wanted to know sooner, but 20 weeks I guess is pretty much the norm. I am 16 weeks right now.
Other than that...not much. I will post a picture soon...just keep forgetting to take one...getting little baby bump. Oh...also got a new car. I have moved more towards a family car...and NO that does not mean a minivan. I got a Honda Element. I love it!! Maybe didn't completely think through the suicide doors with a baby, but I love the car! I will also post a picture of that too.

Mom and dad
Today we had our first ultrasound. It was confirmed that we are 8 weeks. The ultrasound lady said we are exactly 8 weeks today and changed due date to Feb. 17, but the doctor said she was sticking with 8 weeks 4 days putting us at Feb 13. However, as the doctor said, "Babies come when they are ready, so give or take a couple of weeks and there you go!"
The ultrasound really made it real. It was amazing to see it moving around in there and to see it's little heartbeat! Everything is perfect, all of my blood work and whatnot was given an A+! So, off to an excellent start. There was a mild concern that I lost 3 pounds...I assured that doctor that gaining weight is one of my best skills :)
