So, guess a lot has been happening. I took the first glucose test a week or so ago and failed it. Which the doctors office made a big deal out of, but soon realized upon talking to friends that tons of people fail. Well, when you fail you have to do a three hour test. It includes fasting, drinking a gross sweet drink, getting your blood drawn four times and sitting around for 3 hours. Fortunately, I passed the test, so no gestational diabetes!
I had a doctors appointment on Thursday. At this appt, my blood pressure was very high I guess...I don't know how accurate it was because they did it twice on one arm and once on other arm and got something different each time...however, it was always above normal. So, once again I was with the nurse practioner, who I didn't like and she freaked out. So, back to the blood takers I went for more tests (the same tests I had passed two weeks prior) and I was given a bucket that I had to fill with urine for 24 hours. Well, I went for the tests Friday morning and went back to doctor on Friday afternoon. I passed all the tests (except urine had not done that one yet), but my blood pressure was still high. Of course...nurse practioner freaked out, which I am sure was helping my blood pressure, and decided that I needed to go to the hospital for monitoring. Well, the on-call doctor from hospital decided that it was ridiculous for me to go to the hospital because she didn't consider my pressure to be that high. However, they did demand that I start the urine test upon leaving (which originally wasn't doing until Sunday), oh and mild bed rest.
So, I started the urine test Friday afternoon. Then, just to add to my blood pressure skyrocketing when I went to give it to the hospital there was some confusion on if I needed labs or not. So, Matt and I sat in emergency room for 35 minutes (missing our movie with friends) just to find out that all I needed to do was drop off my sample. They then called me about 10 minutes later because they didn't have all the information necessary...then for the icing on the cake....they called 30 minutes later to tell me that they were unable to use my sample!!!!! So, I peed in a bucket for 24 hours straight for no reason!!! I have now decided that the only reason my blood pressure is high is because I am dealing with a bunch of idiots!! Fortunately, tomorrow morning I am seeing the actual doctor, who I am going to share my displeasure with and will hopefully be able to give me some straight answers! My only concern right now is that they will tell me not to fly...I have talked to some people and they say the only reason that they would recommend not flying is if I was a super nervous flier, which I am not. So, keep fingers crossed for me because I am flying on Wednesday and will be so upset if can't fly!!!
Until tomorrow after my doctors appointment...
